Hey guys. So despite classes being cancelled due to 2 feet of snow, I somehow managed to make all my tropical prints. The following images are my final looks, but there is still a lot to be tweaked. Also, it all looks scattered and congested because each look is in a different print variation, because for some garments, I still don't know which print I want to use.
Enjoy! -AD

Hey guys. Thanks for checking out my next collection inspo. This upcoming collection is inspired by spring break: tropics, the beach, exotic fruit, and FUN. The image on the left is the official mood board. Colors will include blues, pinks, and yellows, with tans and nudes are base colors. Fabric will be light and airy: chiffons, satins, mesh, and swim-weights. I also have little pineapple appliques I plan on somehow incorporating. I also might even incorporate some denim aspects, as well as try my hand at designing prints (two things I never do), so I am very excited. Stay tuned. Thank you.
-AD Hello all:
based on your suggestions I received, here are some revisions made to final looks. Enjoy -AD Hey guys. Happy Valentine's Day. Here's my Valentine's gift to you: lots to critique! Lol. Anyways, the following is my complete sketchbook with samples, drapes, inspo pics, silhouette, colors, and then my 60 sketches. The sketches that have the ring around them are the ones that you will be seeing in the final line up. Enjoy! Feel free to comment as necessary. Above is the process work. Below is the final moodboard, along with my final color palette and fabrics.
I tried my best to add the variations next to each other so you guys cold see how the designs build off each other. Feel free to share your thoughts!
-AD Hello class: this is just a little update on my progress and sketches for this upcoming project. I spend the majority of my research looking for already existing garments that were rather simple, yet functional. I later then starting sketching and adding the key elements I want to be featured in this collection: harnesses, laces, "athletic" type fabrics, etc. Enjoy and feel free to leave feedback as needed lots of images still to add: more coming later. The first initial 15-20 sketches focus on shape. I will then add color and particular fabrics once I have a more clear direction: right now I am really liking the two looks on the first page, and I would like the collection to continue in this manner. Thank you for taking the time to review my process. Feel free to leave feedback as necessary, as it is always welcomed. xo -AD ![]() Hello all. Welcome to my first post for portfolio class. This collection will be intended for the spring season. The title of the collection is called "Stigma" because the collection is inspired by the "tomboy" customer, or even a girl who wants lingerie that is more modern and functional, less frilly. Aesthetically, this collection is inspired by the details, sleekness, and complexity of automobiles. Underneath, it is intended for a woman who fixes them for a living. Unlike previous collections of mine which have all had a tendency to be girly and glamorous, this one will feature a more distressed aesthetic: burned velvet, ripped tulle, and the final looks being paired with denim and combat boots. Colors for the most part, I did not want to be cliche and do black and grey simply because it is a tomboy/auto-themed collection. The color palette will be mostly neutrals and nudes, with hints of black, and hints of deep red because I feel red adds some edge. Fabrics will consist of lingerie knits, meshes, and cottons. For each of my collections, I feature silks and laces, but I will try to avoid those for this collection. I also plan to use burned velvet, denim, and lambskin, but all in lighter weights since this is a spring collection. |
